Berbatoh's scoring streak fails to save Songbo FC from defeat
Berbatoh's fine form in front of goal continued with his 7th goal in 4 games but it was not enough as Songbo FC slumbered to a 2-3 defeat. Things looked good at the start with Berbatoh finishing to the keeper's right after PapaSoh found him in the area with a precise pass. The opponents did not really manage to threaten in the 1st half but they rode their luck with Junbing hitting the post from an acute angled shot and then equalising just before half time when an Yanshou deflected an incoming free kick into an opponent.
The 2nd half started slowly as both teams were trying to gain a foothold on the match. However, the opponents once again enjoyed a touch of fortune when a loose ball was not properly cleared in the penalty box and somehow found its way to their striker lurking in front of goal. Songbo FC was also playing for a period of time with 10 men on the field as Alvin Toh had to be sidelined with a back injury. Long absent star striker Jeremy made his comeback appearance and while his touches and fitness is not at his sharpest, he still managed to show some glimpse of his skills that brought him so many goals in the past.
The opponents put the match almost officially to rest following a quick counterattack from the left and their striker executed a neat finish into the far post. With full time lurking and 2 goals behind, Songbo FC managed to claw back 1 goal after Jackie's corner was met by Alvin Toh's head, who have came back onto the field after the pain in his back subsided. However, it was too little, too late and Songbo FC's 6 winning streak came to an abrupt end.
