It was a great morning and Songbo F.C were back to the mosquitoes-infected changing area at Bukit Merah Sec. Sch. Besides being harassed incessently by the formidable 'flying machines', we were informed that today, we will have no subsitutes!!! - unless we were to risk our player manager Alam. After changing up and kicking some balls, we gathered around for the pre-match briefing by Alam: Opponents for the day are BJs, they are perhaps around the age of the Dunearn Uncles but more likely older as we can see a few Zidanes in their ranks. Even those with full crops of hair carry a tummy about the size of mine+wayang's. We were then briefed about our roles and responsibilities before heading out for the kill.

One of the strength of Songbo is as summarised by wayang: we become stronger when we meet stronger opponents. However, we unfortunately also happen to apply this theory when we meet weaker opponents. Worse still, we can out-perform our opponents in being weak and playing rubbish fotball!!!!

Frankly speaking, I have only very vague memories of this match now. Can the goal scorers please leave some input in the comments so that I will then be able to construct the match report from there??

Today marks the 2nd game for our manager Lam. Due to injuries to our Super Gk and Super Striker, he is forced to field our reserve gk tiger yan who has just report back to the squad for duty after a lengthy injury lay off. kenny is pushed up to striker role, in order to fully utilise his speed.

Wayang quan is pushed back to CB because before the match he said opponents bao jiak =D thus robinho is replacing him at DM. The rest of the team is playing at their normal position. Opponent is a team we played before and won. This time seems like there is a new young addition, a kid who do not even reach the chest line of the average player. Wonder kid in the making??

Opponent kick off, they began passing in their own court and start launching attacks to our half, but their strikers are not up to par, and our 2 top class CBs have no problem defending against them. Our manager lam is on the sidelines shouting orders for us to follow. Songbo tried their best to execute his orders. However it is noticed that there are 2 sot sot cha bos doing YOGA by the side of the field, opponents must be thinking is it a trap by us to distract them?? but think the yoga session did not last even 15 mins and the 2 gals are just sitting there chatting.

We got the first kill when looney got the ball on the left side of the field, drift inside and send a long ball forward behind their defense, kenny sprint away from the last man and came 1 on 1 with the gk, he shoots through the middle and scores. The gk managed to get a hand on it but fails to stop it. 1-0 up to songbo fc!

Opponent kick off and some of their players shifted position and they began to play better. wonder kid is subbed with an adult and they began to play better. During one of their attacks, commando tank get the ball through the centre, dribble forward, pass the ball to the ang mo striker who try to shoot but was blocked, the rebound fall to commando who shoots from far, tiger yan looks at the balls, moves left then right then stand rooted to the spot for a moment and the ball flew past him before he make an attempt to save it. Goal! opponent equalised. Not long after that, halftime came.

During halftime, manager lam gave his halftime hairdryer session demanding us to give 110%. Then super striker el nino, who is the team photographer today said that before the equaliser, tiger yan was posing pictures for him, which explains why he was distracted to keep the equaliser out. As a result, a flying boot from capt sparrow was kicked at him. It is not known if it results in a cut at the eye on tiger yan.

2nd half starts, players are rotated to have ample rests. Notably wayang quan was injured by the japanese lookalike samurai.so he was stretched off the field and replaced by papa soh. Moments later, looney is injured too as he was tripped by opponent and injured his thigh. Match end in a draw and songbo's winning streaks comes to an end. But nonetheless songbo still remains unbeaten. Hope the unbeaten records goes on till the end of the season. Huat ah!!!
